MANILA, Philippines - The Las Piñas City government will shoulder graduation expenses of 15,781 public elementary and high school students expected to graduate this school year.
Mayor Vergel Aguilar said in a statement yesterday that the city government earmarked a budget for students’ togas, souvenir photos, diplomas and fare expenses in going to the venue of graduation rites, the Verdant Acres subdivision covered court in Barangay Pamplona III.
High school valedictorians and salutatorians will receive P4,000 and P3,000 respectively; those who receive first to third honorable mentions will be given P2,000 each; and fourth to eighth placers will get P1,000 each, he said.
For elementary graduates, valedictorians will get P3,500; salutatorians P2,500; first to third honorable mentions, P2,000 each; and those from fourth up to eighth place will get P1,000.
