MANILA, Philippines - More than 10 persons were hurt after a wayward bus crossed into the opposite lane of Commonwealth Avenue and plowed through eight vehicles in Quezon City before noon yesterday.
Police Officer 2 Allan Florenda said they were still trying to get the identity of the driver of a Mayami bus (TXW-386) that figured in the incident.
Florenda said the driver of the bus and his conductor fled following the smashup along Commonwealth Avenue at past 11 a.m.
Florenda said among those injured, a motorcycle driver and a passenger of a UV Express van were listed to be in critical condition at the Far Eastern University Hospital’s intensive care unit.
The others were taken to the Fairview General Hospital and East Avenue Medical Center.
The bus was carrying passengers on its way to Sapang Palay, Bulacan when it suddenly crossed lanes and smashed through vehicles going in the direction of Philcoa.
The other vehicles involved in the smashup included a motorcycle, two UV Express vans, three sedans, two wagons and a Mitsubishi L-300 van.
