MANILA, Philippines - Classes at all levels of St. Paul College in Pasig City were suspended yesterday due to a bomb threat.

School officials sent students home after receiving a bomb threat through a text message at about 9:15 a.m.

A team from the Eastern Police District’s explosives and ordnance division and the Pasig City police’s bomb-sniffing dogs searched the school for several hours but found no bombs.

Senior Police Officer 4 Manny Paguia later declared the bomb threat a “hoax.”

Two other schools – Ateneo de Manila University on Feb. 12 and University of Sto. Tomas last Wednesday – also cancelled classes due to bomb threats.

The Philippine National Police said it is still investigating if there is a connection between the three incidents. – Non Alquitran, Cecille Suerte Felipe
