MANILA, Philippines - After being identified as one of the men who robbed a policeman and a Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) official last year, robbery suspect Jonathan Cuya was again tagged in another heist on Wednesday.
Cuya was one of two persons who allegedly robbed Mark Lester Berroya in Barangay San Antonio, said Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Chief Superintendent Richard Albano.
According to Albano, Cuya was tagged by Berroya after seeing his photo in the rogues’ gallery.
QCPD Station 2 commander Superintendent Pedro Sanchez said Cuya and his companion were on a motorcycle when they robbed the victim, who was walking home, at around 10 a.m.
At gunpoint, they allegedly took Berroya’s bracelet, cell phone, wristwatch and other items with a total value of around P100,000.
Late last year, Cuya was tagged in a heist at the house of Chief Superintendent Samuel Perez, the BFP’s deputy chief for administration.
He and his cohorts were also tagged in the robbery at the house of a police officer, also in Quezon City.
Before this, Cuya had been linked to around 10 robberies in Metro Manila. He was arrested in early 2013 for possessing a car his group had allegedly stolen from one of their victims and posted bail, investigators said.
