MANILA, Philippines - Nine police officials, including six generals were among those affected in the latest revamp in the Philippine National Police, PNP chief Director General Alan Purisima said yesterday.

He said the series of reshuffles is consistent with Patrol Plan 2030, a roadmap to transform the PNP into a more capable, effective and credible police force.

Purisima installed Senior Superintendent Rolando Nana as officer-in-charge of the Manila Police District (MPD), vice Chief Superintendent Isagani Genabe.

Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada said yesterday he prefers MPD chief of staff Senior Superintendent Gilbert Cruz to replace Genabe, who was promoted as Region 10 police director.

Chief Superintendent Edgar Orduna was designated officer-in-charge in Ilocos region, while Director Angelito Pacia is now the acting head of the Directorate for Integrated Police Operation (DIPO) of Western Mindanao.

Chief Superintendent Rodrigo de Gracia is now the acting chief of the Directorate for Information and Computer Technology Management, while Chief Superintendent Catalino Rodriguez Jr. is the acting DIPO-Visayas.

Chief Superintendent Dominador Aquino Jr. is now the Caraga police chief, while Chief Superintendent Miguel Laurel is now the Cagayan Valley police regional director.

Purisima said Senior Superintendent Lavadia Gumiran Jr., is now the officer-in-charge of the Eastern Police District. – Cecille Suerte Felipe, Non Alquitran, Jose Rodel Clapano
