Fire destroys P1.5-M properties

MANILA, Philippines - Some P1.5 million worth of properties went up in smoke when a fire hit Barangay San Antonio, Quezon City yesterday morning.

City fire marshal Superintendent Jesus Fernandez said the flames started at the house of Marites Baetiong at past 11 a.m.

The flames quickly spread to 14 other houses, which were made of light materials. The fire reached fifth alarm before it was put out at past 1 p.m.

Investigators are still looking into the cause of the fire.
