POLO’s Taiwan office open on Sundays

MANILA, Philippines - To better serve overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) in Taiwan will now be open even on Sundays, an official said yesterday.

Labor Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz said the POLO in Taiwan decided to work on Sundays along with the Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO).

“I am pleased to know that our POLO in Taipei will be open on Sundays so that  OFWs who may have only their Sundays available to visit the office can now transact official business on this day,” Baldoz said.

Citing a report from labor attaché Reydeluz Conferido, the labor chief said the POLO shall also open for worker services every Sunday at the Ugnayan Training Center.

Baldoz further noted that Pag-IBIG Fund and Social Security System personnel will also be joining the POLO staff at least one Sunday a month.
