Manila roads closed for eco-marathon
MANILA, Philippines - Some roads will be closed starting today to give way to Shell’s Eco-Marathon, the Manila Police District (MPD) said yesterday.
The road closure has two parts: from today until Jan. 26, Independence Road – also known as Parade Avenue – from South Drive to Katigbak Drive will be closed to traffic from 5 a.m. to midnight.
The same road will also be closed from Feb. 12 to 14. The MPD said both lanes of Roxas Boulevard, from Katigbak Drive to T.M. Kalaw street, will also be closed on these dates.
The MPD advised that all motorists coming from the pier zone intending to use the boulevard’s southbound lane should turn left on P. Burgos street, right on Maria Orosa, right on T.M. Kalaw then left on Roxas Boulevard.
Motorists from the south who intend to use the boulevard’s southbound lane should turn right on T.M. Kalaw, left on Maria Orosa, left on P. Burgos and right on Bonifacio Drive.
