Janvic Mateo - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A jeepney driver found a fragmentation grenade inside a grease container in Caloocan City on Friday.

Orlando Pascual, 48, discovered the grenade when he checked on a grease container left at the corner of Cattleya and Biglang-awa streets in Barangay 100 at around 11:20 a.m., said Caloocan City police chief Senior Superintendent Bernard Tambaoan.

Tambaoan said a team led by Special Reaction Unit chief Inspector Jonathan Regala proceeded to the area to recover the MK-2 fragmentation grenade.

The explosive was brought to the city police station for safekeeping and disposition, he said.
