MANILA, Philippines - Traffic policemen are searching for a black Mitsubishi Pajero that figured in a hit-and-run in Quezon City Saturday night.
Jason Gloria, 31, of Barangay Pansol, was injured in the accident and is being treated at the East Avenue Medical Center.
Traffic enforcer Bong Moises said the accident happened at the northbound lane of Commonwealth Avenue near the corner of Luzon Avenue at around 9 p.m.
Witnesses said the Pajero, reportedly bearing license plate number WGN-182, was driven by a man.
Moises said the driver stopped after hitting Gloria but left the scene apparently for fear of being attacked after people came to see what happened.
He told The STAR that the driver might have wanted to help but was afraid, which is why they are expecting and waiting for the Pajero’s owner to surface soon.
Moises said Gloria underwent a CT scan at the hospital but is apparently doing well after sustaining some minor bruises and wounds.
Police Officer 2 Rodrigo Versoza is handling the investigation of the case and is expected to have the vehicle’s license plate number on the alarm list.
