Pasig cop slain in ambush

MANILA, Philippines - A police officer assigned with the Pasig City police’s intelligence unit was shot dead by a gunman riding behind an accomplice driving a motorcycle in Pasig yesterday morning.

Senior Police Officer 3 Graciano Delosata, 55, had just stepped out of his home in Barangay Bambang at about 7 a.m. when his attackers struck.

Police said the gunman could not be identified as he was wearing a ski mask.

The gunman and his companion then fled the scene after the shooting. Witnesses were not able to jot down the plate number of the motorcycle.

Investigators are now trying to identify the attackers based on footage captured by closed-circuit television cameras near the crime scene.
