Pupil’s pa robs, beats up pregnant teacher

MANILA, Philippines - A pregnant teacher was robbed and beaten up by the father of one of her pupils when she confronted him for trying to get her cellular phone inside her classroom in Pasig City yesterday.

Ailene Mojar, 31, who is four months pregnant, suffered face injuries, and was brought to the Rizal Medical Center.

Chief Inspector Glenn Magsino, chief of the Criminal Investigation Section of the Pasig police said Renato Pineda, 37, a resident of 87 Macopa street in Barangay Sta. Rosa, punched and choked Mojar.

When teachers and some parents entered the room and saw the victim lying on the floor, Pineda fled the scene and jumped into the Pasig River.

Pineda yielded Mojar’s handbag containing two cellular phones, an undisclosed amount of cash and a gold bracelet.
