Nurse stabbed by sister’s partner

MANILA, Philippines - A registered nurse was stabbed by his sister’s partner in Deparo, Caloocan City Sunday after he refused to allow the suspect to borrow his motorcycle.

Joselito Godoy, 26, was rushed to the San Lorenzo Hospital but was transferred later to the San Lazaro Hospital in Manila.

Alex de Guzman, 33, voluntarily surrendered to the Police Community Precinct 170 after the incident and was charged with frustrated homicide.

According to Caloocan police chief Senior Superintendent Bernard Tambaoan, Godoy arrived at his sister’s house at past midnight and was met by De Guzman, who tried to borrow his motorcycle.

Godoy’s sister reportedly got mad at the victim and an argument ensued. During the commotion, De Guzman tried to pacify the siblings but the victim turned his ire on the suspect and challenged him to a fistfight.

De Guzman reportedly took out a knife and stabbed Godoy.
