MANILA, Philippines -  Eastern Police District (EPD) director Chief Superintendent Miguel Laurel yesterday ordered more patrols in the vicinity of schools in San Juan, Marikina, Pasig and Mandaluyong.

He issued the directive following reports that over the past few days, students are being robbed of gadgets such as tablets and cell phones in Marikina and Mandaluyong.

“We should coordinate with school officials for the conduct of visible and covert patrols in the vicinity of schools to protect our students from criminals,” Laurel said in his order.
