Businesswoman gunned down in Tondo

MANILA, Philippines - A businesswoman was shot dead while on a motorcycle with her partner and their four-year-old son in Tondo, Manila Tuesday night.

Police said Cherilyn Chua, 27, died on the spot. Her partner, Mark Mamaril, who was driving the motorcycle, was wounded. The boy was unhurt in the attack.

The victims were on Moriones street in Tondo at 10:30 p.m. when the suspects pulled up behind them on a motorcycle and opened fire.

The gunmen sped toward Road 10.

Mamaril was rushed to Mary Johnston Hospital for treatment.

Police have yet to establish the motive for the attack.
