Man killed for bringing friend home

MANILA, Philippines - A 27-year-old man who helped his friend get home safely on Thursday night was killed in Tondo, Manila by his friend’s enemies.

Paterno Realista decided to bring his friend, only known as Marvin, home to Vitas after the latter engaged a neighbor in a heated argument about 10 p.m. on Thursday, according to Senior Police Officer 1 Charles John Duran.

A few hours later, however, Realista’s body was discovered slumped near his friend’s house. He had head wounds, according to a cousin.

His relatives brought him to the Gat Andres Bonifacio Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.
