Man who shot ‘bully’ dead surrenders
MANILA, Philippines - A 20-year-old man who allegedly killed a 16-year-old “bully†surrendered to the police yesterday, a week after he went into hiding.
Jeremy John Reyes said he surfaced to pay for consequences of killing Christian Texon on Nov. 2. He is now under the custody of the Manila Police District.
Reyes admitted to shooting Tecson, but claimed that he was only forced into doing it. He also clarified that he was not the boyfriend of the 16-year-old girl who accused Texon of bullying her at around 6 p.m. on Nov. 2.
He said the girl was the girlfriend of Doods Cuartero, who allegedly brought two guns, gave him one and told him to fire it when Cuartero and his friends attacked Texon along New Antipolo street in Tondo, Manila.
“He pointed his gun at me, told me to fire it or he would shoot me,†Reyes said, adding that Cuartero “shoved me, I did not know that the gun had fired.â€
Texon was rushed to Chinese General Hospital, where he was confined for 29 hours before dying.
