Man slain in front of QC school

MANILA, Philippines - A man was shot dead in front of a school in Barangay Pasong Putik, Quezon City Wednesday night.

Wilfredo Balasbas, 23, and Erickson Diaz, 25, were at a waiting shed in front of the Maligaya Elementary School when an unidentified man shot at them, then fled on a motorcycle driven by an accomplice.

Balasbas was killed while Diaz, who is confined at a hospital, said he will be able to recognize the gunman if he saw him again.

Police said the gunman was reportedly wearing a shirt with the name of Caloocan City Mayor Oscar Malapitan printed on it. Investigators are looking into the identity of the gunman and the motive for the killing.
