MANILA, Philippines - Ilocos Norte Rep. and former First Lady Imelda Marcos was hospitalized yesterday following a 15-hour trip from Ilocos Norte to Metro Manila.
Marilyn Lagniton, spokesperson of the St. Luke’s Medical Center in Taguig City, confirmed that Marcos is confined at SLMC and is being treated by Dr. Joven Cuanang.
Cuanang “is trying to control the high blood sugar (level) of the former First Lady,†Lagniton told The STAR in a phone interview. She said no other details are available on Marcos’ medical condition.
Radio station dzBB reported that Marcos was rushed to the hospital upon arriving from Laoag City yesterday morning.
