Scavenger found dead in Caloocan

MANILA, Philippines - A male scavenger, estimated to be over 50 years old, was found dead in Caloocan City Friday morning.

In a report to the Northern Police District, city police chief Senior Superintendent Bernard Tambaoan said the body of Eddie Castillo was found near the corner of B. Serrano street and 6th Avenue around 7 a.m.

Tambaoan said no external injury was found on the body of Castillo, a native of Bohol and with no permanent residence in Metro Manila.

During ocular investigation of the area where the scavenger was found, a resident told police that the victim was suffering from a lung ailment, said the city police chief.
