Korean stabs self over bankrupt business

Reinir Padua - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - With his business about to go bankrupt, a Korean man stabbed himself in his office in Quezon City Monday afternoon.

Kwan Su Park, 41, an executive officer of First Standout Trading Inc., was found with stab wounds at past 2 p.m. Monday in the restroom along Roosevelt Avenue in Barangay San Antonio, Police Officer 2 Hermogenes Capili said. Co-workers rushed him to Saint Agnes General Hospital, where he died.

Capili said surveillance footage showed Kwan took a kitchen knife from the dining room and went straight to the restroom and closed the door. He bore stab wounds in the neck and abdomen.

Fellow Korean Yoon Beom Kang was looking for Kwan for a meeting with his business partner.

Yoon noticed that the restroom was locked and when he knocked and called out no one responded.

Yoon then forcibly opened the door and was shocked to find Kwan on the floor.

Capili said Kwan has been engaged in the selling of used vehicles from Korea, but he was in debt and his business was about to go bankrupt.
