MANILA, Philippines - Two policemen and a taxi driver were arrested in a Pasay City hotel Saturday night for allegedly trying to extort money from a Korean, an official said yesterday.

Police Officers 1 Marciano Trozado and Mark Anthony Reyes, both assigned to the Las Piñas Police Community Precinct 6, and alleged accomplice Jesus Bahamundi were taken into custody by the Pasay City police, according to Southern Police District director Chief Superintendent Jose Erwin Villacorte.

Senior Superintendent Adolfo Samala, Las Piñas police chief, confirmed the arrested lawmen’s assignment.

He said the Pasay police officers alleged that they were just responding to a call for assistance, but declined to elaborate.

“We are conducting an administrative investigation on the arrested policemen,” Samala said.
