Fisherman hangs self over wife’s affair

MANILA, Philippines - A 36-year-old fisherman hanged himself in Navotas City on Friday after allegedly finding out that his wife had been having an affair with another man.

Rolando Jimenez was found dead by his mother in his house in Barangay Tanza around 8 p.m., Inspector Harold Aaron Melgar said. Jimenez was last seen alive at around 4 p.m. that day.

Citing the accounts of Jimenez’s relatives, Melgar said the fisherman had family problems as he believed that his wife was having an affair. They claimed that the wife left their house several times in the past.

The police officer said Jimenez’s mother waived the autopsy for her son as she believes that he committed suicide.
