Porter stabbed dead in Malabon

MANILA, Philippines - A fish porter was stabbed dead by his co-workers in Malabon City at past midnight yesterday after he allegedly “stole” the client of one of the suspects.

Anthony Mahinay, 46, sustained stab wounds following an altercation at the Malabon Public Market in Barangay Tañong at around 1:20 a.m., Inspector Joseph Gordovez said in a report to the Northern Police District.

He identified the suspects as Peñaranda brothers Dominador, 37, and Jimmy, 42, who are both undergoing treatment the Tondo Medical Center due to stab wounds they sustained in the altercation.

Gordovez said the fight happened after the younger Peñaranda confronted the victim and accused him of stealing his client. The older suspect allegedly joined the fight, which resulted in the death of the victim.
