MANILA, Philippines - Government personnel seized cocaine and shabu, with a street value of at least P121 million, in two separate operations Thursday.

Antonio Uy, 62, was arrested by Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) operatives for reportedly trying to sell a kilo of shabu in front of the Ramon Magsaysay Tower on Roxas Boulevard in Malate, Manila just before noon.

When Uy searched Uy’s Toyota Camry, they reportedly found a kilo of shabu in a plastic bag and 14 more kilos of the illegal drug in a piece of luggage. The street value of the drugs confiscated from Uy is approximately P77 million.

At the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1, South African Debbie Reyneke, 24, was arrested Thursday for allegedly bringing into the country 8.5 kilos of cocaine, disguised as packs of milk.

Reyneke traveled from South Africa to Spain, then proceeded to Dubai before going to Manila, according to customs operations division chief Edgar Macabeo.
