Jail officer loses P.1 M to burglars

MANILA, Philippines - A female jail officer lost almost P100,000 worth of cash and valuables after burglars broke into her apartment unit in Quezon City.

Aubrey Robles, 22, whose flat is located in Barangay Bahay Toro, told police she lost a Canon 550D DSLR camera worth P30,000; a Philippine National Police Academy class gold ring, P60,000; P1,000 cash; a dog tag and a class pin.

Police Officer 3 Jovy Pobre said Robles, who is assigned with the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology Headquarters, found out about the break-in when she got back to her apartment at past 3 p.m. Friday.

She left her apartment some 30 minutes earlier and locked the door before she went out. Pobre said the main door of the unit had been forcibly opened.
