Kidnapped woman found in pieces

Reinir Padua - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The torso and limbs of a woman were found along a street in Quezon City yesterday morning following her reported kidnapping Friday night.

Fely Bautista, who was believed to be in her 50s, was recognized by her nephew, Licencio Ferara, 32, according to Police Officer 2 George Caculba said

The victim’s head was not found, Caculba said.

Ferara recognized his aunt through the red nail polish on her toenails, the ring on her hand, and the dress that she always wore at home. Street sweepers found the body parts at around 5 a.m. yesterday along Payatas Road.

The torso still had a dress on and was the first to be found, wrapped in plastic and stuffed into a rice sack.

Around five meters away, two arms and two legs of the woman were found wrapped in plastic and also stashed in a rice sack.

Ferara, who lives near his aunt, told police he did not know of any reason why anyone would kill the victim. The victim lived alone as a caretaker of the property belonging to a Wilfredo Sumulong Torres.

Ferara told police he and his wife had been searching for the victim since Friday night after neighbors told them that his aunt was kidnapped by two men in front of her house. She was shoved into a white van, he said.
