Aie Balagtas See - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The body of a 13-year-old girl, who drowned in a Binondo creek last Sunday, was found floating off Manila Bay yesterday afternoon.

Police said Chanel Yveth Labro, of Sampaloc, Manila, was reportedly warned by her playmates not to jump into the creek because she did not know how to swim. But she ignored her friends.

Labro was swept away by a strong current while swimming with her friends.

Her body was fished out of the Manila Bay by Ramir Ballen of the Philippine Coast Guard at around 4 p.m.
