Amateur dancer attacked en route to contest

MANILA, Philippines - An amateur dancer is in critical condition after he was beaten and stabbed by three men while on his way to a dance contest in Caloocan City Sunday night.

Ryan Christian Ari, 18, is under observation at the MCU Hospital for several stab wounds while authorities are looking for a certain “Akang Bakod” and two others who were identified as Ari’s attackers.

According to police, Ari was on his way to a dance contest in Bagong Barrio shortly before midnight when the suspects ganged up on him.

Probers are still trying to determine the motive but residents of Bagong Barrio said the suspects attacked Ari to stop “outsiders” from winning the neighborhood contest.
