MANILA, Philippines - Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) have arrested a Chinese for allegedly selling a kilo of shabu worth P2 million in Manila.

Shaofen Cai, alias Chua Sho Feng and Ding Cai, 25, was caught in a sting operation in Binondo on Monday, said PDEA director general Arturo Cacdac.

Shaofen was nabbed shortly after he handed to an undercover agent a plastic bag containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu.

Police also recovered from the suspect two driver’s licenses with different names, a mobile phone, a gold Toyota Innova with license plate ZTS 968 and the money used in the operation.

Cacdac said the suspect is believed to be a member of a drug syndicate.

The illegal drugs seized from Shaofen were turned over to the PDEA headquarters in Quezon City.

The Chinese, who is currently detained at the PDEA National Capital Region office, will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
