Court resolves Makati condo dispute

Mike Frialde - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A Makati City judge has resolved a dispute over the ownership of a condominium in Salcedo Village after a Korean firm withdrew its claim over the building.

In a Sept. 20 decision released Monday, Regional Trial Court Branch 66 Judge Joselito Villarosa said the withdrawal of the complaint by Byucksan Engineering and Construction Co. Ltd. prompted him to recognize the claim of Optimax International Corp.

With Villarosa’s order, Optimax now controls the board of directors of Beccomax Property Development Corp., which owns majority of the units in the 30-story Infinity Tower.

Villarosa said the board of directors – Joaquin Rodriguez Jr., Bede Tabalingcos, Cres Dan Bangoy, Kim Byeong Taek and Sang Jin Lee – elected on Jan. 18 “are hereby validated and recognized, including all actions, resolutions and contracts approved and entered into by (the) board.”
