Man charged for robbing US Marine, teen

MANILA, Philippines - A man was arrested and charged for allegedly robbing a United States Marine and a 16-year-old girl in Dagat-Dagatan, Caloocan City at past midnight yesterday.
Mark Lasay, 25, reportedly robbed Elijah Hezekiah McGhee, 29, as the US Marine was opening the gate of his house at around 1 a.m. McGhee went to the barangay hall and reported the incident.
Two hours later, Lasay allegedly took Mary Grace Javata’s cell phone at knifepoint. Javata started shouting as Lasay fled. Police officers on patrol arrested the suspect.
