Businesswoman hit by stray bullet in Pasig

Non Alquitran - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A businesswoman was hit by a stray bullet in the shoulder as her car was passing through Meralco Avenue in Barangay San Antonio, Pasig City Monday.

Elaine So, 58, of Valle Verde 6, had checked her paper factory in Barangay Manggahan and was on her way home when she was hit at past 6 p.m.

So was in her Toyota Fortuner, driven by John Edmund Guda, 25, when she heard the sound of gunfire as they passed through Meralco Avenue, according to Chief Inspector Glenn Magsino, head of the city police’s criminal investigation service.

So complained of dizziness and only realized that she was hit in the left shoulder when Guda saw blood oozing from the wound, Magsino said. Guda brought his employer to The Medical City for treatment.

Police officers interviewed employees of shops and other businesses in the area and they said they, too, heard the sound of gunfire but failed to see who fired the gun.

Magsino said So, who also owns a row of apartments in Pasig, has no known enemies.
