College student dies in QC road mishap

MANILA, Philippines - A college student died after he was hit and ran over by a delivery truck in Quezon City Tuesday night.

Ariel de los Santos, 22, a student of the Technological Institute of the Philippines and resident of Pook Pag-Asa, Barangay Batasan Hills, died on the spot, said Police Officer 3 Renato Sunga.

De los Santos was on a motorcycle when he was hit by the truck driven by Edmar Luna, 34, along Katipunan Avenue at 9 p.m.

Due to the impact, the student fell off his motorcycle and had his head crushed by the truck’s tire.

Police arrested the truck driver after the accident. He is facing charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.
