Cabbie stabs operator for preaching

Ramil Bajo, Rey Galupo - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A taxi driver reportedly stabbed his operator when the victim confronted him for walking out as he preached to his drivers in Valenzuela City yesterday morning.

Virgilio Delamines – reportedly a recent convert of a religious group – had been preaching to his drivers before sending them out to work each day for the past month, according to a police report.

Delamines was preaching in his garage at past 7 a.m. when Benjamin Hernandez, 56, walked out. Delamines followed Hernandez and confronted him. As the two men argued, Hernandez pulled out a knife and stabbed the operator, the report said.

Hernandez tried to flee but was stopped by fellow drivers, who took him to the police station. Delamines was brought to the Valenzuela General Hospital.
