Quake felt in QC, Malabon

MANILA, Philippines - A 4.2-magnitude earthquake in Aurora province was felt in Quezon City and Malabon City, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said yesterday.

Phivolcs said the epicenter of yesterday’s 12:30 p.m. earthquake was traced to Dingalan, Aurora province.

The tremor was recorded at intensity 3 in Dingalan, Aurora and Gabaldon, Nueva Ecija; intensity 2 in Quezon City, Malabon, Baler in Aurora, Laur in Nueva Ecija and Cabanatuan City; and intensity 1 in Dipaculao, Aurora; Palayan City, Bongabon and Gapan in Nueva Ecija.

The movement was said to be tectonic in origin. Phivolcs is not expecting any aftershocks. There were no reported damages.
