Palace employee, lover shot dead

MANILA, Philippines - An employee of Malacañang and his alleged live-in partner were shot dead in Sampaloc, Manila Friday night.

Wenefredo Serrano, 52, of the Presidential Management Staff, and Leticia Gundayao were about to enter their house on Predencio street when a gunman clad in shirt and shorts shot them.

Police said the couple died on the spot from multiple gunshot wounds.

Senior Police Officer 3 Glenzor Vallejo of the Manila Police District said three men were seen near the crime scene, but only one of them shot the victims with a caliber .45 pistol.

Investigators have yet to establish the motive for the killing.
