8 arrested over illegal numbers game

MANILA, Philippines - Eight people were arrested for reportedly engaging in an illegal numbers game in Tondo, Manila on Wednesday night.

They were identified as alleged bet collectors Yuan Guevarra and Ana Paras; bookies Joylyn Galang and Remedios Manoloto; and bettors Ryan Almocera, Manuel Capispisan, Lito Onrada and Rustom Cabuzo.

Bettors’ lists, bet money and other gambling paraphernalia were confiscated from them, according to Chief Inspector Al Cabauatan, head of the Manila Police District’s special operations unit.

Cabauatan said the eight were charged before the Manila prosecutor’s office.
