QCPD proposes 2 new stations

Reinir Padua - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) is proposing the establishment of two new police stations, one of which will guard the North Triangle business district.

The two additional police stations are being proposed because of the creation of two congressional districts in Quezon City and the vast areas of jurisdiction of four already existing police stations, QCPD director Chief Superintendent Richard Albano said. At present, the QCPD has 12 police stations.

The North Triangle police station will have a precinct that will be situated near Quezon City Science High School and will be the QCPD’s 14th station.

On the other hand, the site of the 13th police station will be in the vicinity of Luzon and Congressional Avenues.

Albano said the proposed two additional stations will improve the police to population ratio in specific areas to be affected by the reorganization.

The proposal will be presented for approval by Mayor Herbert Bautista and the National Capital Region Police Office.

QCPD deputy director for administration Senior Superintendent Joel Pagdilao said the two additional stations will reduce the areas covered by Station 3, which covers the area of Talipapa; Station 4, which covers Novaliches; Station 6, which covers the Batasan and Payatas areas; and Station 2, which is situated in Masambong.

The proposed Station 13 will cover Barangays Sauyo, Pasong Tamo, Holy Spirit and Old Balara.

The proposed Station 14 will cover Barangays Bahay Toro, Ramon Magsaysay, Alicia, Bagong Pag-asa, Project 6 and Vasra.

It will also cover the areas of the Departments of Agriculture, Environment and Natural Resources and Agrarian Reform and the Office of the Ombudsman, among others.
