MANILA, Philippines - Five males, two of them minors, were arrested after allegedly robbing the passengers of a jeepney along North Avenue in Quezon City Friday night.
The two boys, aged 14 and 17, were turned over to the custody of social workers while their companions – Ariel Sibog, 20; Jomar Villanueva, 19; and John Michael Rocaberde, 18 – remain detained, said Superintendent Pedro Sanchez, commander of the Quezon City Police District Station 2.
A computer tablet, identification cards, credit cards and valuables stolen from the passengers were recovered from the suspects.
Sanchez said the suspect board jeepneys when they stop at a red light and rob the passengers nearest them.
QCPD director Chief Superintendent Richard Albano said another victim, who was robbed in another heist in a jeepney on Aug. 21 along Agham Road, showed up and tagged two of the three detained suspects.
