1 hurt in Makati smashup
MANILA, Philippines - A motorist was injured when a trailer truck he was driving hit a dumptruck and caused a collision involving five other vehicles in Makati City before dawn yesterday.
Joseph Fonda reported that the brakes on his trailer truck failed and the vehicle rear-ended a dumptruck at the corner of Osmeña Highway and Arnaiz Avenue.
The dumptruck then hit a sport utility vehicle, an Elf truck and two taxicabs ahead of it.
Fonda, who suffered minor injuries, was brought to a nearby hospital for treatment. The Makati traffic police is preparing charges of reckless imprudence resulting in damage to property against Fonda.
