Call center agent shot dead in Pasig

MANILA, Philippines - A call center agent was shot dead as he was driving home in Pasig City yesterday.

Gaddard Espiritu, 28, a resident of Barangay Rosario, was with officemate Rhea Mar Bartolome when he stepped on the brakes along Ortigas Extension in Barangay Sta. Lucia at around 3 a.m. He had just dropped off three other officemates.

A taxi stopped behind Espiritu’s car and its male passenger got out and started cursing at Espiritu, then pulled out a handgun and shot the victim, Senior Police Officer 1 Michael Espares said.

Though wounded, Espiritu was able to drive away until he lost consciousness. The victim’s car hit a tricycle parked near a bridge. Bystanders helped Bartolome rush Espiritu to the Pasig City General Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.
