2 brods face separate murder charges

MANILA, Philippines - A man who prevented policemen from arresting his brother, who is wanted for murder, was himself arrested in connection with another murder case in Cubao, Quezon City.

Marvin and Manny Limjoco had been tagged in two separate shootings in Cubao that stemmed from parking disputes, Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Senior Superintendent Richard Albano said.

Both brothers are facing murder charges, Albano said, adding Marvin has a separate case for obstruction of justice.

Inspector Elmer Monsalve, head of the QCPD’s Homicide Investigation Section, said while it was Manny who was the one the policemen were looking for as they served the arrest warrant on Thursday afternoon, the law enforcers ended up leaving the Limjoco residence in Barangay Socorro with Marvin in custody.

Manny is a suspect in the killing of Filipino-Chinese Albert Man last year while Marvin was identified by a witness as the one who killed coconut vendor Jojo Gomez last Tuesday.

“Both cases stemmed from parking disputes,” said Inspector Alan dela Cruz, who led policemen in the operation to arrest Manny, who escaped as his family tried to prevent his arrest.

“They even let the dog out,” said Dela Cruz, who almost got bitten by the family pet. Albano said Special Weapons and Tactics policemen had to accompany Dela Cruz’s team.
