Teen nabbed for P.1-M robbery
MANILA, Philippines - A teenager was arrested after he and his three companions allegedly robbed a jeepney passenger of more than P100,000 in cash and valuables in Quezon City Thursday night.
Quezon City Police District director Senior Superintendent Richard Albano said Raymart dela Cruz, 18, of Barangay Bagong Pag-Asa was arrested by policemen following a brief chase at past 7 p.m. in front of the Philippine Children’s Medical Center. His three companions escaped.
Albano said policemen seized from the suspect a bladed weapon and a bag taken from Princess Celestino, 25. It contained P6,000 in cash; a MacBook Air laptop worth P65,000; a phone worth P30,000; and identification cards.
The victim was in a jeepney moving along Quezon Avenue when she was robbed at knifepoint by Dela Cruz and his companions, Albano said. Police officers on patrol saw the suspect and his companions get off along Agham Road and chased Dela Cruz.
