Teen worker, girlfriend shot dead

MANILA, Philippines - A construction worker and his girlfriend were shot dead in Marikina City Wednesday night.

Richard Maya-Maya, 19, and Maria Katrina Rabulan, 16, were walking to a friend’s home in Barangay Nangka at around 8 p.m. when a man shot them repeatedly, city police deputy chief Superintendent Earl Castillo said.

Maya-Maya reportedly figured in an altercation in the neighborhood just before they were attacked, Castillo said.
