MANILA, Philippines - A man was nearly beaten up after a car he was driving caused a nine-car smashup in Quezon City before dawn yesterday.
Justin Buencoceso’s Honda Civic (XPH-985) reportedly hit two sedans, two sport utility vehicles and five taxis parked at the corner of Tomas Morato and Timog Avenues.
Buencoceso, 25, admitted he had a beer but denied being drunk. He reportedly blamed the accident on the failure of his newly purchased second-hand car’s automatic transmission.
He said he was willing to shoulder the costs of the damage to the vehicles.
