Bus hits flyover railing; 11 hurt

Reinir Padua - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Eleven persons were injured when a provincial bus smashed into the concrete railing of a flyover in Quezon City before dawn yesterday.

Dominion bus driver Virgindo Peralta and his passengers were brought to the East Avenue Medical Center for treatment following the accident on the southbound lane of the EDSA flyover near the corner of Quezon Avenue in Barangay Philam, Police Officer 1 Anthony Aloro said.

The provincial bus had an Abra-Cubao route. At that time, the driver was headed to Cubao when another bus cut his path from the left side.

Because of this, Peralta steered to the right in order to avoid the other bus.

The wheels of the bus he was driving hit a gutter and the vehicle smashed into the concrete barrier at the foot of the flyover.
