MANILA, Philippines - A Manila policeman and his companion were arrested in Paco before dawn yesterday for allegedly riding a motorcycle without helmets and bearing guns without the proper papers.
Police Officer 1 Reggie Dominguez, 33, and Bambam Valbuena were initially stopped by members of the Manila Police District Station 5 before 2 a.m. after they were spotted riding a motorcycle without helmets in Paco.
Investigators said Dominguez introduced himself as a police officer but was still invited for questioning after the two of them yielded a .45 caliber pistol and a .38 caliber revolver.
At the police station, investigators found out that Dominguez was previously charged with robbery, also in Paco. Both suspects were detained while the investigators submitted the confiscated weapons to Camp Crame for ballistics tests and comparison with bullets recovered from recent robberies in Manila.
