Korean woman, lover arrested for adultery

Ramil Bajo, Rey Galupo - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A Korean woman and her alleged lover were arrested for adultery yesterday after her husband – and several police officers who accompanied him – caught them naked in a hotel room in Ermita, Manila.

Sook Yung Moon, 28; and Bae Jue Young, 30, were charged before the Manila prosecutor’s office.

Sook’s husband, Moon Hyung Lee, told investigators at the Manila Police District headquarters that he asked the assistance of precinct commander Chief Inspector Rizal Pecayo after receiving an overseas call from his mother-in-law who told him that a man called her asking for money “if she didn’t want her daughter to be sold to another man.”

Pecayo said they traced the call to a hotel in Ermita where Sook was billeted and saw the lovers in the hotel room. Sook frequently visits the country to receive treatment for cancer, police said.

Investigators said the man who called Sook’s mother was Bae. Sook’s mother is set to fly to Manila today, while Moon said he will pursue the case against his wife and Bae.
