Veterans’ pensions delayed

MANILA, Philippines - The pension for veterans will be delayed this month, the Philippine Veterans Affairs Office (PVAO) announced yesterday.

The glitch is mainly due to the Department of Budget and Management’s delay in issuing the notice of cash allocations (NCA), according to Jet Fajardo-Rivera of the PVAO public information office.

“The NCA is the instrument that authorizes the transfer of cash for PVAO to be able to remit pensions to the authorized servicing banks and (Armed Forces) financial institutions,” Rivera said.
